FAQs

Will there be cups available, or is this a “cupless” event? Do I have to carry my own water?

We are a cupless race. That means that you will be carrying your own cup/bottle/hydration whatever on the course and will be able to fill it up at the aid stations. We have fast-flow spouts on all of our drink coolers to make the refill quick and smooth. There will not be disposable cups at aid stations. If you have questions, email us.

What are the refund and deferral policies?

Registration fees are non-refundable and deferrals will not be granted, except as follows: If you become pregnant, or adopt a child, after registering and cannot participate, you are able to defer your race entry for up to 2 years. To defer, you must email us no later than 30 days prior to race day. If you believe you have a unique or urgent situation that requires a deferral, please send us an email.

What’s the deal with referrals?

We want to reward you for getting your crew to race with you. You’ll get a referral code when you register. You’ll get a $20 refund for every 3 people that use your code, up to 9 people.

Do you need volunteers?

Absolutely yes please! Send us an email if you’re interested in helping us out. We always need help at packet pickup on Friday afternoon before the race and on race day at the start lines, aid stations, and finish line. Volunteers (or volunteer crew members) will get a 25% refund toward their registration fees.

Do I need a shuttle ticket?

Probably yes if you are traveling by yourself. Probably not if you’re coming with friends/family that can drive you to your start and pick you up at the finish. Check out the Transportation page and email us if you have questions.

Can I use a “drop bag” to bring gear to the finish? What about extra layers I take off while I run?

Yes, you can bring a drop bag to the start of your race and we will get it to the finish (Note: we are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items in your bag). We do not have empty drop bags at race start lines — bring your own drop bag. For layers you might discard as you warm up on the run, please drop those items at an aid station or, as a last resort, at a course sign. It really helps us make sure the course is cleaned up completely after the race. Items discarded on course will NOT be available at the finish line or after the race.

How are the races timed?

Chip timed — your time starts when you cross the start line timing mat and ends when you cross the finish line timing mat. If you’re a contender for a top finisher prize, please start at the front of the pack.

Where are the port-a-potties? Restrooms?

There are port-a-potties at each aid station and all race start lines. Full marathon: there are also two public restrooms close to the start on Deloney Street and in the Home Ranch Lot. Finish line: there are public restrooms throughout Teton Village, the closest being underneath the Mangy Moose and underneath RPK3 in the tram building.

What food and drinks will be on the course? At the finish line?

All aid stations have both water and Powerade. Energy gels will be available at miles 12.6 & 19.6/6.5 (Full/Half Marathon). We will have a selection of snacks and sandwiches (or something similar) at the finish line.

How strict are the aid station cutoff times?

Strictly speaking, they are strict. For marathoners that are concerned about the cutoffs, we are offering an “early bird” starting wave to give you extra time. Email us if you are interested in being an Early Bird.

What if I sign up for one race and decide to switch?

Transfers are allowed until the week before the race in your RunSignUp account. If you upgrade to a costlier event, you will pay the difference between the entry fees of the two events. If you downgrade to a less expensive event, there is no charge or refund.

Is there a virtual race option?

Yes! We have added virtual options for all race distances. You can sign up for a virtual race (or switch to a virtual race) in your RunSignUp account until 10 days before the race. We’ll send you your bib, medal, and t-shirt and you can upload your race results to RunSignUp.

Where should I stay?

There are a variety of lodging options throughout the Jackson Hole Valley ranging from hotels and motels to vacation rentals. The two main areas where visitors typically stay are in the Town of Jackson and in Teton Village. While both Town and Teton Village have a variety of food and shopping options, there is more variety in Town. Our lodging page will be live once we have some deals to share for this year’s race. If you have questions, email us.

Can I pick up someone else’s race packet? Can someone else pick up my race packet?

Yes, you must show a copy of a photo ID for each packet being picked up.

Can I pick up my bib up on race day?

Yes, you can pick up your bib (only your bib) at your start line. Start line bib pickup CLOSES 15 minutes PRIOR TO YOUR START. If you are late, you will not get your bib and will not be able to race. We do not have empty drop bags at race start lines — bring your own drop bag. Your race shirt and the rest of your runner swag will be at the finish for you, though we cannot guarantee your requested shirt size will be available at the finish line.

Can I change my shirt size?

You will receive the shirt size that you signed up for when you pick up your bib. We will have a limited number of shirts to swap sizes at the finish line if you would like a different size.

Can I push my child in a stroller while I run? Can my dog run with me?

We love kids. We also love dogs. However, for the safety of all runners on the course, neither are allowed.

Will finishers receive medals?

Yes! We will have finisher medals for all races and they will be awesome.
